'Rebooting' a Wildgame Innovations camera??Posted by lsu1987 on 10/17/16 at 6:48 pm
I have four WGI cameras, and two of them stopped allowing me to get into the menu mode to make adjustments. When I press the menu button...nothing. I tried pressing the reset button, but that did not help. Removed batteries, removed SD card, nothing helps. Does anyone know how to reboot/restart the model L08C?

The best thing to do is take the battery cover off and take all the battery's out. Remove the SD card. Open it up and lay it down on the ground while you mix up some quick crete. Fill the inside cavity area with quick crete, wipe clean the edges and close up. Allow quick Crete to harden. Attach to a trot line thru the provided handle on top. Bait with goldfish, bream or sun perch for flatheads. Worms, wieners, or whatever for channels and blues. Works great.

Bought one wildlife innovation camera. It wouldn't work brand new. Lost receipt. Exchanged TWICE for new. The 3rd one I put in kitchen for a month. Zero pictures. Toss in trash and learned lesson. Don't. Buy. Junk.

I have 5 of them and have never had any issues. I would try sending them back for warranty.

It still takes pictures, just every 15 seconds because I can't get into the menu and change the default settings that it went to when I pressed the reset button. I called WGI and they said send it back (if I had receipt and less than a year old) but that's not gonna happen. I guess I will put a 32GB card in it and get ready to look at 15K pics when we pull the card....
But at least it works. Based on previous comments from others I should be grateful.....

lsu1987,
Sorry to hear of your problems. I once bought a cheap WGI camera for my son. After a year, it quit working (can't remember the particular problem). A few days later I went deer hunting. I started calling WGI customer service when I left the house and didn't quit until I got to the road to my deer stand. 50 minutes of calling and non one EVER answered the phone and no voice mail. I won't EVER buy another WGI camera. Good luck.

Wildgame Innovations Trail Camera Troubleshooting
So, does your trail camera experience specific problems? I'll be showing you the different issues a trail camera may have and how to resolve them:
1. In the Display: LCD Goes Out
One of the main problems hunters face with trail cameras is the LCD display. Sometimes, the LCD would go completely off, stays blurred, or it won't be able to get the light. Follow these steps if ever this happens:
- The memory card may have locked the entire trail camera, resulting in the display going all black. Reset the camera and format the memory card, removing it and putting the card back in again.
- Check the camera's battery and if there's still enough charge in it. When you find that the battery's empty, then the camera would turn on but have no display at all. If that's the case, charge or replace the battery.
2. Saving Photos: SD Card Error
Another very frustrating problem hunters face isn't just the display or photo quality, but the memory! If ever you've saved photos or have recorded footage of the area but find out it wasn't saved, don't worry. Here are some solutions to its memory problems:
- Check the SD card and see if it still has enough space for photos and videos. If ever there isn't, then you'll need to delete or format the memory card to accommodate the media.
- Check the SD card and see if it's compatible with your trail camera and if it's attached to the slot properly.
3. Lighting In Photos: Black Night
The quality of the photos can end up either being too dark or too bright, ruining the entire shot from lighting. If ever your photos come up too bright or dark, here's the top solution:
- Check out the camera's exposure scale, which would have positive and negative on either side. You'll be able to see the correct exposure position from the marker found on the scale.
- Make sure that the marker is on the positive sign, or in the middle. This ensures that the photo gets enough lighting, but not too much to make it overly bright.
- The problem might also be the glare of the sun, which can overheat the camera and shit it off. Avoid placing it under direct sunlight to prevent the shots from being against the light and from overheating.
4. The Display Blinking

Sometimes, the LCD display of your trail camera begins to blink. Not only is it irritating, but it can get worrisome if the problem persists.
However, the simple solution is to open the memory card slot, take out the memory card, and format it. If ever the display still continues to blink, then it's best to get a new SD card.
5. Does the Problem Still Exist?
If ever you've tried all these steps but to no avail, then there might be problems inside your trail camera. Chances are, your trail camera is defected and needs repair or servicing.
- If you still have a warranty for the trail camera, then bring it to your nearest company service center. They will be able to fix or replace the unit for free.
- For those who don't have a warranty for it anymore, then make sure you find a reputable servicing center or repairman who can do the job.
- Sometimes, the repair can cost as much as a new trail camera! If this happens, then it's best to simply replace the camera with a new one with a good warranty.
